The ride and scenery were fabulous to say the least. Our guide was very professional and her knowledge of the area was very helpful!

Horseback Riding near Yellowstone
You are not required to be a guest at our lodge to take a horseback ride. We welcome all with a firm handshake and our kindly brand of Western hospitality.
GOOD MORNING SUNSHINE RIDE- 9am-10:30am daily.
What could be a more perfect way to start a Rocky Mountain morning than to experience nature’s beauty from atop a horse? We at Absaroka Mountain Lodge are fortunate enough to offer high mountain views; river crossings and possible wildlife sightings—all within a convenient hour and a half-long ride at an affordable price for the whole family. This leaves you ample time in the rest of your day to visit all that our incredible Yellowstone Country has to offer. $55/person.
PICNIC LUNCH RIDE-10am-1:30pm.
For those who want the adventure of getting deeper in the backcountry, this longer ride is the way to go. This trip includes a sack lunch with a drink. $90/person. (Maximum rider weight for this trip is 250 lbs.)
STEAK DINNER RIDE-4pm-7pm Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Another favorite of our guests, this ride is an ideal way to end the day. The menu includes a nice juicy steak, fried potatoes, baked beans and garlic bread all cooked over an open campfire. We also have strawberry shortcake for dessert. Can’t you just smell it now? This ride is a winner all the way around. $80/person.
TWILIGHT EVENING RIDE-7pm-8:30pm daily.
You asked and we listened. We are now offering a relaxing evening horseback ride to cap off a memorable day in Yellowstone and Cody. Your 1-½ hr. ride will include creek crossings and spectacular mountain views. We may even cross paths with the bear, moose, sheep or deer that inhabit our beautiful canyon. $55/person.
*Please note that all ride times are approximate. Because we ride in mountainous terrain, no trotting or galloping is allowed.
Weight limits apply and are subject to suitable horse availability. Contact us for details.
All paperwork must be turned in and all rides paid for prior to departure. Because there is much labor and preparation involved, any cancellations made by the rider (not due to inclement weather,) will result in a 50% cancellation fee. No shows will be charged the full rate.
Certain horseback rides may not be available in August and September. Our final day for horseback rides for the season will be September 5th.
We Love Families!
Opening day of our 2018 season is May 21st and closing day is September 8th.
