We at Absaroka Mountain Lodge know that you are looking for unique experiences for your vacation. You are coming to the Yellowstone area for exploration, adventure and to spend precious time with your loved ones. How about trying something new? We invite you to join us for sightseeing from a different perspective on a Yellowstone horseback ride. Your 4-legged taxi will take you to new heights and expand your horizons. Our trails on the Northfork of the Shoshone National Forest offer a variety of beautiful terrain, including sparkling river crossings, wooded forests, and breathtaking high mountain views. Never ridden before? No problem! You don’t need any previous experience. We have horses for all skill levels and our experienced wranglers are always there to give you a helping hand. (Minimum age for children on our rides is 6 years old, but we can offer a complimentary pony ride at our corral for any little buckaroo under 6.)
You are not required to be a guest at our lodge to take a horseback ride. We welcome all with a firm handshake and our kindly brand of Western hospitality.

You asked and we listened. We are now offering a relaxing evening horseback ride to cap off a memorable day in Yellowstone and Cody. Your 1-½ hr. ride will include creek crossings and spectacular mountain views. We may even cross paths with the bear, moose, sheep or deer that inhabit our beautiful canyon. $55/person.

Weight limits apply and are subject to suitable horse availability. Contact us for details.
All paperwork must be turned in and all rides paid for prior to departure. Because there is much labor and preparation involved, any cancellations made by the rider (not due to inclement weather,) will result in a 50% cancellation fee. No shows will be charged the full rate.
Certain horseback rides may not be available in August and September. Our final day for horseback rides for the season will be September 5th.
