We have some exciting changes in store for 2015!!
We now have a cabin that offers the western style luxuries while still maintaining the integrity of rustic charm. It is perfect for honeymooners or any couple that would like the comforts of home in a relaxing retreat. This 1 bedroom, 1 full bath cabin features a king bed and separate living area with a lovely sofa, recliner, and fireplace. It also has a small fridge w/freezer and microwave for your convenience. It is aptly named The Gunbarrel Suite, as our very own Gunbarrel Creek is only steps from the front door of this cabin. Check it out on our Cabins and Rates Page!
We have also added 2 innovative options for horseback rides to accommodate your busy vacation schedule. You can find complete descriptions of all our rides on our Horseback Riding page.
Our guests have told us that our lodge is a “hidden jewel.” We are proud to provide the hospitality and personal touch that is rarely seen these days in this business. Many of our guests have become personal friends, and return year after year. If you are looking for a place to create memories, we humbly invite you to give us a try. The natural beauty that surrounds you will be awe-inspiring.

On the eastern edge of Yellowstone National Park lies a valley unsurpassed in rugged mountain beauty, sparkling streams, hidden lakes, and abundant wildlife (Teddy Roosevelt once called it “the most scenic in America”). Nestled among towering pines and sunlit palisades, Absaroka Mountain Lodge extends a quiet welcome to visitors looking for a “Greater Yellowstone” experience.

Once you enter Gunbarrel Canyon, you’re away from the sounds of the Yellowstone road, ready to become part of this peaceful area named after the Crow Indian’s word “home place”. You’ll be in the midst of unspoiled country, in the heart of America’s first national forest – the Shoshone National Forest – where deer, elk, moose, big horn sheep and even buffalo roam.
Your days and nights at Absaroka Mountain Lodge will be filled with adventure and some of the simpler things we many times take for granted – the scent of the pines, fresh mountain air, the camaraderie of new friends. And when these fun-filled days are over you will sleep to the quiet music of whispering breezes and shimmering mountain streams. Come and join us for a “Greater Yellowstone” experience.
