Our guests have told us that our lodge is a “hidden jewel.” We are proud to provide the hospitality and personal touch that is rarely seen these days in this business. Many of our guests have become personal friends, and return year after year. If you are looking for a place to create memories, we humbly invite you to give us a try. The natural beauty that surrounds you will be awe-inspiring.
Thank you so much for a wonderful stay at your lodge. We had such a fun time!! The horseback breakfast ride was a highlight of our trip and your lodge and staff are amazing… Please let your husband know how delicious our meals were and that my youngest ate her biscuits and gravy as we drove to Mount Rushmore! Many thanks for a lovely stay.

We stayed at the lodge in July and it was the very best vacation we have ever had. The staff was so friendly we felt at home. We took the breakfast horse trip and the food was 5 star.

Kerry and Theresa Boyd
Kerry and I both grew up in a small town in NW Iowa. Music played a big role in my upbringing from the time that I was very little. From my Grandparents to my Aunts, Uncles, and Mother, there wasn’t an instrument they couldn’t play or a song left unsung. I grew up listening to them perform in their own Country bands and even joined my Mother and brother’s band occasionally to sing a song or two.
Kerry has always been a real cowboy—riding steers in Little Britches Rodeo as a boy and then moving on to bareback horses and bulls in the PRCA during his late teens and early twenties. We married in 1984 and farmed for several years before realizing our dream of moving West in 1998. By working shoulder to shoulder we were able to be successful in a variety of endeavors. In 2005 we purchased Absaroka Mountain Lodge. Together with our 2 daughters, we hit the ground running.
It has always been our mission to provide our guests with an authentic Western family atmosphere and experience. We are completely hands on owners from greeting guests, cooking in the restaurant, wrangling horses, cabin cleaning and everything in between.
After all these years our family has expanded to include our 2 son-in-laws, (both of which also worked with us at the Lodge,) and 3 of the best grandchildren in the world. Our children have their own successful careers now, but we will be forever grateful for their help and the precious time spent with them working side by side.
